Job Title: Senior Red Hat Linux Administrator Consultant.

Location: Annapolis, MD (Hybrid)

We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following Qualifications.

Minimum Requirements:

• A bachelor's or postgraduate degree in engineering, computer science, or a closely related discipline, as defined by the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC).
• Note: Degrees in Agricultural and Resource Economics or Business Administration (MBA) are not considered related fields.
• Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE).
• Certification must be issued by Red Hat.
• Certifications can be current or expired, provided a valid certification ID is submitted.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience as a Red Hat System Administrator.
• 10+ years of experience managing Unix (AIX) on IBM pSeries systems.
• 15+ years of overall experience in the Information Technology (IT) industry.

Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers across development, testing, and production environments.
• Perform upgrades, apply patches, and implement security hardening to ensure compliance with best practices.
• Monitor system performance and resolve issues to reduce downtime and maximize efficiency.
• Automate system administration using Ansible, Bash, or Python scripts.
• Manage tools within the RHEL ecosystem, including Red Hat Satellite and Identity Management (IdM).
• Collaborate with security teams to safeguard systems against vulnerabilities and ensure adherence to security standards.
• Administer and optimize storage, backups, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Support application teams with Linux-based deployment guidance and best practices.
• Maintain thorough documentation for configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting.
• Participate in on-call support rotations and incident resolution.
• Set up Network File System (NFS) services and manage mount points.
• Configure system and application Cron jobs.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Complex networked environments and advanced networking.
• Administering Unix (AIX) on IBM pSeries.
• Managing systems and applications, including:
• Oracle WebLogic & Database Servers
• Progress 4GL/OpenEdge
• Apache Web Servers
• vSphere-hosted RHEL Servers
• Rubrik backup systems
• Oracle Database backups
• PeopleSoft, Mobius, Elastic Search, Oracle OBI, CVS
• Red Hat performance tuning, load balancing, system partitioning, backup, and disaster recovery.
• High-availability (24/7) IT environments.
• Application development and Red Hat Support services.
• Electronic imaging systems.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills (internal and external stakeholders).
• Proven leadership and user support experience.
• Skilled in OS, database, and application-level troubleshooting.
• Proficient in backup/recovery and networking practices.
• In-depth understanding of Red Hat system configuration and tuning.
