Description Community Solutions, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and passionate Community Engagement/Outreach Coordinator to join our team at our new Adult Multi-Dimensional Anti-Recidivism Partnership (MAP) located in San Bernardino, CA. MAP is an innovative program dedicated to engaging the community and providing rehabilitative programming for justice-involved individuals. We focus on promoting long-term, self-sustaining skills through vocational training and personal development services. This unique model hosts a variety of sub-contractors at one site to reduce barriers for clients. The primary function of this position is to serve as a liaison between the organization and the community by establishing, maintaining, and strengthening relationships with local officials, community-based organizations, and the general public. The role involves coordinating and participating in community events, conducting public relations and outreach efforts, identifying community service opportunities, and ensuring effective communication between the agency and external stakeholders. This position supports program goals through collaboration, event documentation, and consistent communication with internal leadership.
Essential Functions: - Develop, establish, and sustain strong relationships with community officials at all levels to enhance collaboration and support for agency initiatives.
- Serve as a professional representative of CSI and its funders by maintaining a polished business appearance and demeanor at all public and community engagements.
- Acquire and maintain a thorough understanding of the agency’s programs, policies, and procedures to ensure accurate representation and compliance in all outreach activities.
- Cultivate and strengthen long-term partnerships with community-based organizations to support mutual goals and expand the agency’s presence within the community.
- Coordinate, lead, and actively participate in public relations activities, including speaking engagements, community events, council meetings, and public forums.
- Identify, plan, and implement community service projects that align with agency objectives and address local needs.
- Accurately document and report on community outreach activities, including event participation and outcomes, to share with internal leadership and funders.
- Maintain regular communication and collaboration with the QA Subcontractor Coordinator and Program Director III to align outreach efforts with program goals.
- Provide support and coverage for team functions as needed and perform additional duties as assigned to ensure the success of outreach initiatives.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications CSI understands clients and staff have been impacted by trauma. CSI is becoming a trauma-informed organization by hiring individuals with existing experience in trauma-informed practices as well as supporting ongoing staff development with trauma-informed practices. This will include learning to recognize symptoms of trauma and how to respond, through training starting at orientation and throughout their career at CSI. Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in a social science or related field required.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills are essential.
- Demonstrated sound judgment and strong decision-making abilities.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and project coordination capabilities.
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team; demonstrates leadership by example.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, as well as virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and GoToMeeting.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
