Job Description

Job Title: Surgical Tech        

Duration: 13 weeks contract (Extendable)

Work Location:  Ithaca, NY (14850)

Shift timing:  Days

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare the operating room by ensuring all surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment are sterilized and available.
• Assist surgeons, nurses, and other surgical staff during procedures by passing instruments, sponges, and sutures.
• Maintain a sterile environment by following proper aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
• Monitor and account for all surgical instruments before, during, and after procedures.
• Assist in positioning patients and preparing them for surgery as required.
• Operate and troubleshoot surgical equipment and technologies as needed.
• Handle specimens collected during surgery according to hospital protocols.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and efficient workflow.
• Maintain accurate documentation of surgical procedures and instrument usage.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 2+ years as a Surgical Technician.
• Certifications : Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
• Education : Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Skills : Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile techniques, and operating room protocols.
• Technologies : Experience with surgical instruments, medical devices, and OR technologies.
• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations and adapt to changing circumstances.
