The Union newspaper in Grass Valley, California, is seeking a Sports and General Assignment Reporter We're a five-day, community newspaper that seeks to report news important to our readers in western Nevada County. While this reporter will be responsible for their beats, they're not limited to them. Reporters are encouraged to branch out into enterprise and investigative pieces that tell the story of the people who live and work here. The Union is one of the oldest, most respected newspapers in California. It strives to deliver impactful journalism that seeks to hold authorities accountable and strengthen the bonds of our communities - in whatever media form the story best dictates. We need an ambitious storyteller who can turn a phrase, shoot an image, edit a video and send a tweet all on deadline. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. Grass Valley is an hour from the snow, a little over an hour from Sacramento, and about two-and-a-half hours from the ocean.
