Job Description

About Rivian

Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract.

As a company, we constantly challenge what’s possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.

Role Summary

We are looking for a highly analytical Senior Data Analyst – Advanced Analytics to join the Commercial Finance Team, supporting the Vehicle Service and Warranty Accounting functions. In this role, you will enhance and maintain Rivian’s warranty cost models, develop predictive analytics to monitor performance, and help drive data-informed decision-making across vehicle service operations. This role blends data science, finance, and operational strategy—and is a key contributor to ensuring Rivian’s warranty programs are efficient, scalable, and aligned with customer experience goals.

Why This Role Matters:

  • Advance Warranty Intelligence: Own and improve Rivian’s warranty model to enhance forecasting and cost management.

  • Turn Data into Strategy: Develop analytics that directly inform executive decisions around warranty, service, and customer care.

  • Drive Automation: Create scalable solutions to capture and analyze warranty activity efficiently.

  • Partner Across Finance: Support warranty accounting and participate in financial close and audit processes.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve Rivian’s predictive warranty model, including statistical and actuarial assumptions.

  • Conduct deep data analysis and develop routines for tracking warranty performance.

  • Present insights and model outcomes to executive leadership to influence strategy.

  • Build and maintain warranty dashboards and monitoring tools in platforms like Tableau or Power BI.

  • Automate reporting and data workflows using Databricks, Python, or SQL.

  • Support the month-end close process by reporting actuals and aligning with accounting policy.

  • Partner with internal and external audit teams by providing model documentation and backup data.

  • Contribute to cross-functional transformation projects to improve service data systems.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Graduate Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field.

  • 3–5 years of experience in data science, actuarial analysis, or advanced analytics.

  • Hands-on experience with SQL, Python, or equivalent programming tools.

  • Proficiency in data platforms such as Databricks, Alteryx, and visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Hex.

  • Strong analytical and research skills; ability to navigate complex data models and identify key insights.

  • Excellent communication skills, with experience presenting to non-technical and executive audiences.

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines, especially during month-end close cycles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Manufacturing or automotive experience.

  • Exposure to warranty accounting, service operations, or product quality metrics.

  • Experience supporting finance or accounting teams.
