Role Overview


Are you a Food Service or Retail manager looking for career growth opportunities in a dynamic university setting?

Sodexo’s Campus Segment is seeking a Retail Manager 2 to oversee a high-volume Starbucks location at SUNY Oneonta . This mid-size, four-year public university is nestled in the scenic foothills of the Catskills, serving approximately 6,500 undergraduate and graduate students through on-campus and online programs.

What You'll Do


  • Lead and supervise a busy Starbucks operation open until 8:00 PM
  • Manage a team of up to 25 employees , including a shift supervisor
  • Motivate, coach, mentor, and develop frontline (hourly-paid) employees
  • Ensure top-tier customer service and operational excellence
  • Oversee cash handling processes, including POS programming and maintenance
  • Maintain retail brand integrity for both national and in-house brands
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety and physical safety standards
  • Maintain merchandising, marketing, and ordering standards
  • Collaborate with Oneonta Auxiliary Services (OAS) to enhance dining experiences

What You Bring


  • 2 - 4 years management experience in food retail or large restaurant or other food concepts;
  • have a work history in Food Retail management demonstrating leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization;
  • possess the ability to manage multiple priorities and exhibit a passion for a high-level of customer service;
  • demonstrate working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production and management systems as well as menu graphics programs.
