Job Title: Quality Inspector 2
Reports To: Engineering & Quality Manager
Summary:
Responsible for inspecting and testing furnished, work-in-progress, and finished goods/products and overseeing operations to ensure they meet customer purchase orders, drawings, and specifications, and processing requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Read and accurately interpret engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions and procedures and material and testing certifications.
- Must be proficient in understanding geometric dimensioning and tolerancing requirements, identify and conduct proper method and instrument for accurate inspection and measurement.
- Conduct visual and dimensional inspection using caliper, micrometer, pin gage, snap gage, force gage, optical comparator, (MicroVu Vertex) high resolution vision system, laser scan micrometer, etc.
- Able to conduct part testing using tensometer, material hardness tester, rheometer and equipment testing using thermocouple thermometer, cleanroom particle counter, etc.
- Conduct and complete First Article Inspection and report per AS9102.
- Conduct receiving inspection.
- Perform thorough inspections of incoming raw material, finished goods, including hardware and processed parts from vendors, as well as customer-supplied material.
- Verify all necessary documents are received and in compliance with all requirements of the purchase order.
- Perform in-process inspection throughout the manufacturing process.
- Conduct final inspection. Responsible for final inspection and stamp of approval on Quality Control Document before processing paperwork for shipment to customers.
- Ensure that all completed operations on job traveler are properly documented.
- Perform dimensional and visual inspection of product in accordance with customer Purchase Order (PO), blueprint, drawing, checklist, part list, etc.
- Generate First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) and/or Dimensional Inspection Data Reports as applicable.
- Confirm part marking and unit packaging, and all documentation required with the product shipment.
- Support SPC data collection and documentation when applicable.
- Support and perform tool inspection/calibration, internal equipment calibration, maintain calibration records, documentation, and scheduling as assigned.
- Provide quality inspection technical support.
- Educate and train manufacturing personnel on more appropriate inspection methods and techniques whenever necessary.
- Support MRB and RMA material inventory and disposition.
- Write material/product nonconformance reports and corresponding internal quality alert.
- Participate in completing RCCA reports and effectiveness evaluation.
- Enforce and maintain complete and accurate quality department document control.
- Effectively communicate clearly in verbal and written form with management, engineering, quality, and production personnel using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Provide clear, complete, and accurate written reports to management in a timely manner.
- Participate in internal quality audits and quality system improvement projects.
- Conduct 6S, continuous Improvement and lean enterprise practices and action items.
- Support as backup for quality personnel functions during scheduled work breaks or as required.
- Provide support to the receiving and shipping department as needed.
- Comply with company policies and procedure guidelines with special attention to quality assurance and safety regulations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
