Cordia Resources by Cherry Bekaert is partnered with a top construction firm who is seeking a Public Civil Estimator to join their team on a 3 month contract basis with the potential for contract-to-hire. 

Title: Public Civil Estimator
Location: Remote (local to the DMV area)
Job Type: Contract / Contract-to-Hire

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate directly with the owner to enhance the public bidding process and program.
• Assess IFBs, ITBs, RFQs, and RFPs, providing recommendations on opportunities to pursue.
• Aggressively and accurately estimate project costs to maintain competitive pricing.
• Engage with qualified subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing.
• Analyze work sequences and scopes to ensure accurate costing and production.
• Utilize InEight software to develop comprehensive proposals.
• Partner with our in-house Business Development and Marketing teams to evaluate and pursue public civil opportunities.
• Analyze outcomes of opportunities to gather insights for future decisions.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and submit inquiries to the project owner.
• Collaborate with Operations team members to establish production rates for tasks.
• Transition awarded projects smoothly to the Operations team.

Requirements:

• Proven efficiency in preparing accurate costing for a large volume of public opportunities with diverse scopes.
• Strong ability to secure competitive pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Experience in bidding on public prime work or public civil projects (e.g., highway, utilities, stormwater). Please provide details on project scope and value.
