Job Description

Gpac is currently seeking an experienced Process Engineer for a food manufacturer outside of Buffalo, NY. The company has been in business over 60 years and provides their products internationally. They are family owned with strong roots in providing quality ingredients and fostering a strong culture!

As a Process Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing systems and equipment procedures within the manufacturing process. This includes testing and monitoring equipment, optimizing existing processes, and conducting evaluations to drive improvements!

Overview:

• Review equipment and processes to ensure they meet environmental and safety standards.
• Establish best practices, routines, and innovative solutions to enhance production efficiency and product quality.
• Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for various processes.
• Introduce new methods for processing, packaging, and handling products.
• Conduct research aimed at improving and advancing manufacturing techniques.
• Design and optimize plant equipment layouts for better workflow and efficiency.
• Perform testing and continuously monitor process performance during production.
• Diagnose and resolve issues within the manufacturing process.
• Assess plant utility needs based on specific equipment requirements.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of equipment operations and critical process transformations.
• Optimize manufacturing systems by integrating expertise in machinery, materials, methods, work environments, and workforce efficiency.
• Utilize technical knowledge and leadership to troubleshoot challenges and enhance packaging and production systems.
• Work closely with R&D, Quality, Operations, and Engineering/Maintenance teams to drive improvements and minimize material waste.
• Collaborate with R&D and project teams to offer technical support for capital projects, product trials, and new product initiatives.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering or related
• Minimum 4 years related work experience in roles within process and/or packaging engineering, process/system development, product development, quality engineering or manufacturing
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, technical leadership, troubleshooting, analytical and problem solving skills, adaptability, team collaboration
