As the IV Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for the preparation, distribution, and control of sterile injectable medications in an ambulatory setting. Key responsibilities include both chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy sterile compounding, maintaining accurate and timely records (e.g., refrigerator temperature logs, hood cleaning), medication distribution, and inventory management. All duties are performed independently under the supervision of a Pharmacist. Schedule: Monday - Sunday: 7:00am - 7:00pm; varied shifts, depending on department needs, including weekends and holidays. This role will require you to float and travel to multiple locations. Hourly Salary Rate: $35.20 (Pharmacy Technician I Per Diem) or $41.87 (Pharmacy Technician II Per Diem) + Pharmacy Technician I Per Diem (9279): Less than 2 years of experience + Pharmacy Technician II Per Diem (9278): Equal to or more than 2 years of experience Bargaining Unit: EX - AFSCME Qualifications + Current CA Pharmacy Technician license - required + Ability to float and travel to multiple locations within UCLA Health - required + Experience compounding chemotherapy using departmental guidelines for cytotoxic agents - required + Minimum 1 year of IV sterile compounding pharmacy experience - required + Proficiency in aseptic technique for preparing IV solutions + Strong ability to perform accurate pharmaceutical calculations + Ability to work independently and follow through with minimal supervision + Skilled in computer entry of medication orders and report generation + Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and other health professionals + Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach frequently + Ability to lift 25 lbs and push 50 lbs + Responsiveness to auditory alarms and communication devices UCLA Health welcomes all individuals, without regard to race, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, national origin or disabilities, and we proudly look to each person's unique achievements and experiences to further set us apart.
