We are currently seeking an experienced Medical Assisting Instructor to join our team of motivated educators and leaders. Summary:

The Medical Assisting Instructor facilitates student learning and build students ability to critically think so that they can make safe and effective decisions on the job. The medical assisting instructor promote a culture of learning that values mutual responsibility and respect. The instructor teaches in the classroom, online and lab setting, evaluates student achievement, participates in curriculum development, program revisions and evaluations, and other matters as assigned in accordance with the mission, core values, and purposes of the school.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop effective lesson plans aligned with curriculum
  • Prepare and deliver engaging lessons that foster students analytical thinking
  • Utilize various resources to enhance the students' learning experience
  • Promotes student success in the classroom and lab. Provides instruction that will assist students in obtaining skills necessary to meet employment needs
  • Assess and record students’ progress and provide grades and personalized feedback in a timely manner
  • Works with students to identify their strengths, learning styles, and areas requiring further development, and to develop and implement remediation plans as needed
  • Maintain accurate records, submit grades and other reports on time, and enforce College academic and engagement policies
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom and maintain discipline
  • Build student confidence in preparing for their career path
  • Collaborate with other course team members, including class and lab instructors to promote consistency in teaching and learning which will lead to student success.
  • Participate in teacher meetings. Communicate information regarding student progress and needs to our educational team
  • Participate in professional development related to teaching skills, college activities, committees, and seminars as well as departmental meetings/activities
  • Model self-discipline in the classroom and help students learn how to develop it

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Graduation from a Medical Assisting program at an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation; or Graduation from an otherwise recognized training entity (e.g., hospital-based program) in Medical Assisting
  • Current certification as a medical assistant or must be certified within 1st year of employment
  • Teaching experience in classroom and online is required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant
