Job Summary

An established manufacturing facility specializing in molded rubber products is seeking a highly skilled All-Around Machinists. This role is crucial to supporting production by machining new tools and performing rework and maintenance on molds, dies, fixtures, and other components. The ideal candidate will be experienced in both manual and CNC machining, including the ability to program from scratch using Edgecam or similar software.

Job Description

• Machine and rework molds, dies, and fixtures for rubber product manufacturing.
• Maintain and repair existing tools and perform related welding or torch tasks when required.
• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings to determine dimensions and machining strategies.
• Program CNC mills and lathes independently using Edgecam or comparable software.
• Operate CNC and manual mills, lathes, and surface grinders.
• Inspect workpieces for accuracy before transferring to production.
• Collaborate with design and production personnel to resolve machining or production challenges.
• Safely handle and transport molds and materials across shop and storage areas.
• Maintain shop equipment, tooling, and a clean, organized work environment.
• Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Participate in safety training and continuous improvement activities.
• Train and mentor other shop employees as needed.
• Unionized, safety-conscious manufacturing facility.
• Non-driving shop-based role.
• Coveralls provided; steel-toe boots required.
• Emphasis on teamwork, adaptability, and learning specialized processes.

S kills Required

• Minimum 5 years of experience machining molds, dies, fixtures, and related tooling.
• Proficient in CNC mill and lathe programming and operation.
• Skilled with manual machining and hand measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.).
• Ability to pass a machinist test with at least 85% accuracy (if administered).
• Certified or willing to be certified in forklift and crane operation.
• Ability to take and follow written and verbal instructions.

Education

• Highschool diploma or GED

Pay Rate

• $32 per hour

Additional Details

• Shift is 6am-2pm Monday-Friday
• Certifications in CNC/machining (not mandatory).
• Preferred experience working in a unionized, team-oriented environment.
• Lift up to 50 lbs and carry up to 35–50 lbs.
• Traverse ladders, stairs, uneven surfaces, and work at varying heights.
• Operate hand tools and machinery with appropriate grip strength.
• Adequate color vision, depth perception, and hearing ability.
• Perform repetitive movements and operate in a physically demanding environment.
