Job Description
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Investment Controller in the Real Estate & Property industry, based in San Diego, California. The primary job function of this role will be overseeing the daily accounting operations, financial reporting, investor reporting, and structuring tax-efficient transactions.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations including acquisitions and sales, and cash management
- Contribute to the success and growth of the team through expertise in financial processes, analysis, and compliance
- Collaborate with the team to plan, coordinate, and execute the annual financial statements, including the consolidation of multiple entities
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting staff development, training, and providing performance evaluations and coaching
- Maintain strong communication channels within and outside the team, facilitating teamwork and cross-collaboration
- Evaluate existing financial processes and systems, identifying opportunities for improvement in efficiency, internal controls, and reporting capabilities
- Ensure accurate and timely internal and external financial reporting, including month-end processes and investor reporting
- Monitor and ensure compliance with debt agreements and lending agreements, mitigating any financial risks. Requirements - Proficiency in Auditing, with a track record of conducting thorough and efficient audits in the real estate industry
- Proficient in Equity Accounting, with a focus on real estate investments
- Knowledge and understanding of Real Estate Tax, including current laws and regulations
- Experience in Financial Reporting, with the ability to create clear and comprehensive reports
- Proficiency in Cash Management, with a focus on maximizing efficiency in the real estate sector
