Job Description:
We are seeking a dependable, patient, and trauma-informed caregiver to support a 13-year-old boy in Detroit who lives with PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) and Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD). The caregiver will provide consistent evening support, helping with structure, emotional regulation, and safe transportation.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide a calm, supportive, and structured environment
Assist with after-school routine, including meals and homework help
Model appropriate behavior and use de-escalation strategies
Transport to recreational activities as needed
Communicate regularly with family/guardian on progress and challenges
Requirements:
Must be 21 years or older
Prior experience with trauma-informed care or behavioral support preferred
Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation required
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to remain calm, consistent, and firm in challenging situations
Must complete paid training prior to starting
