Job Description

We are recruiting a Control Room Operator (CRO) for Jack County Power Plant located in Bridgeport Texas. This position operates and directs the operation of all the equipment of the combustion turbines (CT), heat recovery steam generators (HRSG), steam turbine (ST), zero liquid discharge water treatment plant, gas pipeline equipment, water pipeline equipment and balance-of-plant equipment. Additionally, this position will direct the O&M Technicians in Power Block and Water Treatment Plants in the operation and maintenance of auxiliary equipment. Successful candidates must have 5 years of power plant operations experience with 3-5 years as a qualified CRO at a combined cycle facility.

Job Responsibilities

• Directs the O&M Technicians in Power Block and Water Treatment Plants in the operation and maintenance of auxiliary equipment.
• Maintains station log and keeps records of operation as required.
• Prepares and directs the preparation of abnormal operation reports and equipment failures.
• Prepares and directs the preparation of detailed information for plant reliability.
• Works a rotating shift schedule.
• Regularly makes decisions on non-routine or escalated technical issues.
• Independently prioritizes and executes responsibilities effectively for a single trade, group of related tasks or functional area.
• Checks own work and possibly the work of others; work results are of the highest quality standards and advanced technical competency.
• Resolves the most complex technical issues, conferring with Team Leader occasionally; may serve as resource to others in resolution of complex issues.
• Works under limited supervision.
• Prioritizes own weekly schedule and may guide others in the completion of tasks within clearly defined schedules as set by management.
• Regularly provides on-the-job skills training to others in complex technical areas.

Required Skills / Knowledge

• Strong mechanical aptitude and basic understanding of chemistry, physics, electricity and mathematics.
