Job Title: Control Room Operator
Pay Rate: $20.60/hr.
Shift: 1st (7AM- 3PM), 2nd (3PM - 11PM), 3rd (11PM - 7 AM)
Benefits: Medical, Dental, AD&D
SUMMARY:
Operates and performs maintenance on machinery as required. Documents and records required data for down time, problems, temperatures, and production, including any information relevant to the respected area. Must ensure that Good Manufacturing Practices Policy (GMP’s), Safety and Health Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulations are being followed. Must be willing and able to continue training in evaporation systems, flash cooling and hot breaks for future advancement and increased control room responsibility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Understands the process flow of the specified machinery being operated; Hotbreaks, Fencos, Evaporators and the Flash cooler.
• Must have the ability to operate at least two control room systems within the department (Hotbreaks, Fencos, Evaporators and the Flash Cooler).
• Follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) when performing Cleaning In Place (CIP’s) and operating machinery.
• Assists the control room lead in the day-to-day operations.
• Ensures that product being produced by Evaporators and the Flash Cooler meet the specifications according to the Manufacture Standard Practices (MSP).
• Ensures that proper levels and temperatures are recorded and remain within limits.
• Maintains all written production log sheets that are relevant to the respected area.
• Checks pump seals and cooling water as required, to ensure compliance of eliminating unnecessary waste.
• Ensures that the proper equipment is being worn: bump cap, gloves, safety glasses, face shield, and ear plugs when CIP is being executed and when maintenance to machinery is required.
• Maintains high level of cleanliness of equipment and surrounding work area.
• Records all sanitation procedures being executed that are relevant to the respected area.
• Assist in the training of new personnel in the evaporation department.
• Executes thorough shift pass down with oncoming Operator.
• Relieves other operators for their breaks in a timely manner and assist others as needed.
• Ensures that all required paperwork is completed properly at the end of the shift.
• Uses SOPs to change out nitrogen tanks that supply nitrogen to the cold hold tanks.
• Participates in Safety Tailgate meetings as required.
• Coordinates sanitation within the Evaporation, Hot break and Juice tank areas with Sanitation Department.
• Takes samples from various stages of the evaporators to the lab, following Q.A. Lab requirements.
• Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge in the operation of all control room systems; Hot breaks, Fencos, Evaporators, and Flash coolers.
• Knowledge to operate calculator to perform general mathematical functions.
• Works with others and coordinates production with co-workers.
• Basic Computer knowledge.
• Works with minimum supervision.
• Must be mechanically inclined and able to troubleshoot equipment when necessary.
• Must complete the company forklift safety and training course.
• Operates Technical Equipment such as: Process Sensor (MCT 600), Thermocouple Thermometers, and Digital Stopwatches.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
One to Two years’ related experience and/or training in Evaporation or similar equipment or equivalent combination of training and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to read, write and speak English satisfactorily to perform the essential functions.

• Write routine reports and correspondence.
• Speak effectively and clearly to co-workers, upper management and customers when needed.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, with the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, weight measurements and volume.
REASONING ABILITY:
Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. The ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

• Process Control & Instrumentation (Wonderware Panel, Butterfly, Gate and Ball Valves, Relief & Regulating Valves, Flow Switches, Temperature Charts and Graphs).
• Hand Tools (Wrenches, Pliers, Bearing & Gear Pullers, Hammers, Screw Drivers, Socket Sets and Pry Bars)
• Measuring, Leveling & Inspecting Tools (Tape Measure, Squares & Protractors, Calipers, V-Blocks, Plug, Thread Gauges and Flashlight).
• Power Transmission (Hydraulic Pumps, Air Compressors, Filters, Regulators & Lubricators, Shaft Collars and Couplings and Air Cylinders).
• Material Handling Tools (Hoists, Dollies, Drum Handlers, Pallet Jacks, Leveling Mounts and cranes)..
• Machinery Maintenance (Lubricants, Grease Guns & Fittings, Metalworking Fluids & Oils).
• Lathe, Drill Press, Grinder and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
• Gear Boxes, Pumps (Chopper and Weldon).
