Job Summary

We are seeking a Chemist I develop skincare and hair care products. In this role, you will independently make lab batches, test formulas, and research raw materials. Additionally, you will formulate and troubleshoot lab batches with the guidance of senior staff. You’ll also assist with lab equipment calibration, prepare the required paperwork and support the scale-up of manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate has 2-5 years of batching and some formulation experience, a relevant degree, and strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare lab batches of skin & hair care formulas with minimal to no supervision
• Formulate and troubleshoot lab batches with the guidance of senior staff
• Document detailed observations based on experiments
• Test skin & hair care products
• Research and request raw materials
• Support senior staff in training interns and lab technicians
• Support process engineers in scale up and production manufacturing
• Attend cosmetic seminars and meetings
• Calibrate lab equipment as needed
• Perform other activities as required

Requirements

• 2-5 formulation experience required
• Bachelor’s degree in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field
• Knowledge of basic science laboratory equipment
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong computer skills
• Attention to detail and project management skills
• Ability to work in a team environment and independently
