Job Summary Langan is seeking a
CAD Designer to join its collaborative team in
White Plains, NY . This individual will serve a key function in providing the assistance of planning and designing of civil engineering for both federal and private land development projects. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a passionate, collaborative team of civil engineers, working on exciting and meaningful projects across many different market sectors.
Job Responsibilities
- Effectively use reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, tests, and aerial photographs to assess soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and topographical and geologic data to plan and design projects;
- Prepare the planning and designing documents of civil engineering, land development and infrastructure projects in close collaboration with engineers using engineering and design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.) and equipment;
- Perform zoning and other feasibility assessments for development projects;
- Write and/or review draft reports, including feasibility studies, stormwater management reports, technical specifications, and utility reports;
- Remain current with the Firm’s standards for CAD production and productivity tools to continuously increase efficient use of CAD; and
- Perform other duties as requested.
Qualifications - Associate's degree, certification, or equivalent experience in drafting, civil technology, engineering technology, or a similar area of study;
- Prior relevant internship or professional experience using AutoCAD (Civil 3D a plus) in site/civil land development design, including site planning, grading, stormwater management, drainage, and soil erosion is desired;
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal land use permitting;
- Strong AutoCAD design skills;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities;
- Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment; and
- Possess reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits and a valid driver’s license in good standing.

The estimated range for this role is: $25 - $30. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, location, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills. Certain roles may be eligible for overtime and participation in the firm's annual bonus and performance review program. Bonuses are discretionary and based on individual job performance and the profitability of the firm. Employees are also eligible to receive up to 20 days of paid vacation time, 10 days of paid sick time and 10 paid holidays throughout the year. Eligibility and actual paid time off may vary based on local law and factors such as hours worked, related work experience and level.
