Job Title: Buyer II 

Location: Pleasanton, CA (100% Onsite) 

Rate: $40 - $50/hr

Duration: 6 Months (Possible Extension) 

Contract Type: W2 (must be authorized to work in the U.S.; no sponsorships or C2C) 

Hours Per Week: 40

Job Description

Join our client as a Buyer II , where you will support Procurement activities within New Product Introduction (NPI) projects. In this role, you will be responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors, as well as evaluating vendor quotes and services to identify the most desirable suppliers. The position entails typical supply chain responsibilities such as purchase order (PO) development and tracking, with a strong emphasis on managing software Statements of Work (SoWs) and licensing POs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, issue, and track purchase orders for materials, equipment, and supplies
  • Evaluate vendor quotes to determine best pricing, terms, and overall value
  • Support NPI projects by ensuring timely procurement of required materials and services
  • Manage software SoW’s and licensing PO’s, ensuring proper documentation and compliance
  • Maintain relationships with vendors to ensure effective communication and issue resolution
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (planning, engineering, quality) to meet project timelines
  • Monitor inventory levels and delivery schedules to maintain uninterrupted supply

Qualifications

  • Education: High School diploma required; Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Supply Chain, Business, or related field) strongly preferred
  • Experience: 2-5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or a related field
  • Familiarity with standard procurement concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Ability to exercise judgment and creativity in a variety of tasks
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and negotiation skills
  • Previous experience managing software and licensing procurement is a plus
  • Software: SAP Ariba is a plus
