Job Description
Position: Accounting Assistant/Bookkeeper
Location: On-site, Hybrid, or Remote (Depending on Experience)
Schedule: Full-time (1.0 FTE) or Part-time (0.6 FTE); Full benefits available at 0.80 FTE
Compensation: $24 - $27 per hour
Reports To: Accounting Manager
Travel: Not required
### About the Role
We're looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Assistant/Bookkeeper to join our team! In this role, you will support the accounting department with financial transactions, data entry, invoice processing, and financial reporting. ### Responsibilities
- Process invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Communicate with vendors to ensure invoice and statement accuracy
- Collaborate with internal departments to verify receipt of goods and services
- Manage payment reminders and assist with tracking expenses against budgeted amounts
- Assist in preparing monthly financial reports for management
- Contribute to the preparation of quarterly physician and management compensation structures
- Support special projects as needed

### Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant business experience, preferably in a healthcare setting
- Experience in ophthalmology is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare accurate reports
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software
- Experience with charting, document management, and medical software preferred
- Ophthalmic Coding Specialist certification is a plus but not required
### Work Environment & Requirements
- Low to moderate noise levels in an office environment
- Ability to work on-site, hybrid, or remotely (must have stable internet and a dedicated workspace for remote work)
- Requires prolonged periods of sitting, using hands and arms for data entry, and good visual acuity
